Practice Profile

What types of cases do we see?

Patients with acute & chronic conditions and those seeking preventive care come to us with the goal of healing. Our practice compliments conventional medicine and many other treatment modalities such as homeopathy, naturopathic care, allergy treatment, acupuncture, chiropractic, pediatric OT/PT/Speech services, pre-natal and detoxification protocols.

Adult

Adults of all ages suffering from chronic pain, migraines, autoimmune disease ,fibromyalgia, spinal dysfunction, whiplash, sinusitis, tinnitus, TMJ, neurological problems, dance injuries, arthritis, headaches, stress, anxiety, asthma, scoliosis, postural syndrome, weakness, gait deviations, gastro-intestinal problems, reflux, IBS, insomnia, and many other conditions.

Newborn

Newborn care is available for parents who opt to facilitate health and happiness with at home, post-birth CranioSacral therapy care. This can be done immediately post-birth or within the first few weeks of life. Birthing can be beautiful and traumatic at the same time. Immediately clearing any CranioSacral, visceral and/or myofascial restrictions can prevent or reduce the prevalence of colic, reflux, gastrointestinal distress, insomnia, feeding/latching issues, motor difficulties and make for a much happier baby.

Breastfeeding issues such as poor latch, gagging and positioning challenges are easily corrected by relieving restrictions which may exist in the nerves, organs and/or musculoskeletal system. These restrictions can affect sucking and latching. Positional body twists in the newborn prevent comfortable feeding, sleeping and can later adversely affect motor milestone development.

Infant

For infants we often receive referrals from doctors for babies with Torticollis (stiff neck condition), plagiocephaly (misshapen cranium), reflux, vomiting, constipation, insomnia, excessive sweating/heating, recurrent ear infections, asthma, eczema, motor difficulties (low tone, spasticity, motor milestone weaknesses) feeding/speech difficulties, and many other conditions.

Toddlers Thru Adolescent

Toddlers thru adolescents are commonly treated for recurrent ear infections, asthma, gait abnormalities, motor skill challenges, speech and sensory integration issues, oppositional behaviors, autism, PDD, spectrum disorders, ADD/ADHD, neurological conditions, anxiety, stress, immune and detoxification challenges, dyslexia, aphasia, Down Syndrome, tics, and many other diagnoses.

The Dancer

Dance Medicine: Treatment of the young and adult dancer geared toward recovery, prevention and self management. Dancers are working with their bodies in ways which defy normal human boundaries. They benefit from specialized assessment, correction and recommendations to survive their craft. Balance maximizes function, coordination and performance. Gentle manual therapy, taping techniques, exercise, stretching and proprioceptive facilitation help to restore function and to prevent further injury.

Pregnancy

Pregnancy bodywork maximizes the course of development and makes for an optimal birthing experience. Our treatments help women to release restrictions in their body and pelvis to diminish back pain, tension and maximize the uterus alignment to facilitate an optimal labor and birthing experience. We teach self correction exercises to support proper posture, relieve pelvic floor strain, enhance fetal positioning and promote balance. This treatment can be followed by a newborn visit and post-partum session for the mom to clear trauma and expedite healing.
